Default rate
As the default rate also functions as the fall-back rate for when no season or external rates apply, we recommend configuring your mid-season pricing in the default rate. You can amend the rate name accordingly.
To configure your default rate:
- Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Rentals.
- Select the rental you wish to edit and select Default Rates.
- Now configure your default rate using the following settings:
Setting | Notes |
---|---|
Default rate title |
To rename your default rate, click on the text bar and replace Default Rate with the name of your choice. |
Currency |
Select the default currency for the rental. This will determine the currency in which you will see prices displayed in the rental's bookings in the reservation system. 💡 Note: The currency in which guests see prices corresponds to their location. If you want all guests to see prices in a specific currency regardless of their location, please contact us at help@lodgify.com. |
Price per night & min stay |
Enter the nightly rate of your rental. 💡 Note: This is a required field, even if you also configure a price per weekday. If you wish to set a minimum stay, enter the minimum number of nights a booking must meet. 💡 Note: If you have multiple rental types, you can enter a minimum stay per rental type. |
Length-of-stay prices
|
If you wish to offer a weekly and/or monthly rate, switch the button on and enter the rate per week and/or month. If you wish to offer a rate for a custom period, tick the box and enter the number of nights for which this rate will apply. Enter the rate for this period. (Not recommended) |
Price per weekday |
If you wish to charge a different nightly rate depending on the day of the week, switch the button on and enter the rate for each weekday. |
Minimum stay per weekday |
The longest minimum stay requirement applicable during the entire booking period will be considered when determining the minimum length of stay required for a booking. If there are different minimum stay requirements for different dates within the booking period, the longest minimum stay requirement for the entire booking period will be applicable. 🔎 Example: Imagine you set a minimum stay of 2 nights for Monday and 3 nights for Tuesday. If a guest wants to check in on Monday, they will need to book a minimum stay from Monday to Thursday, adhering to the longest minimum stay requirement of 3 nights across the entire booking period. 💡 Note: If you have multiple room types, you can enter a minimum stay per weekday per room type. |
Occupancy |
If you wish for the default pricing to apply only up to a certain number of guests whilst applying an additional charge for any subsequent guest, switch the button on. Enter the extra charge per guest per night and after how many guests the charge will apply. |
Short stay price
|
If you wish to apply an extra charge when the stay is too short, switch the button on. Enter the number of nights and the charge amount per night. Example - if you enter 2 nights, the short stay charge will apply to stays of 1 or 2 nights. 💡 Note: This setting does not override a minimum stay. If you set a minimum stay of 3 nights, the short stay will not allow guests to book for 1 or 2 nights. |
Check-in/check-out restrictions |
To restrict check-in and check-out to certain weekdays only, switch the button on and tick the days when check-in and check-out are allowed. |
Rates info |
If you wish to add further information in the rates section of the rental on your website, switch the toggle on. Use the Rates Notes text box to add further information.
💡 Note: Rates Notes is an optional field and will only show on your website if you add text. |
💡 Note: Make sure to select Save after configuring or editing the settings of the default rate.
