Create a fee in your rental
You may wish to charge guests for services not included in the room rate, such as a cleaning or service fee. The fees section allows you to add these charges either as a percentage of the booking amount or as a fixed amount.
Unlike add-ons, fees are mandatory and will be automatically added to the amount of the reservation.
💡 Note: If you are synchronizing rates through one of our Channel Managers, check out which fee configurations are synchronized with each platform.
To set up fees:
- Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Rentals.
- Select the rental that you want to create the fee for, and select Fees & Taxes.
- Click Assign Fees.
- A slide-in window will appear where you can select to apply one of your existing fees to this particular rental, or you can create a new fee by clicking Create a new fee.
- Give the fee a name and optionally add a description. Make sure to do both for all the languages you offer on your website.
- Decide on the Fee Type and choose either flat fee or percentage. The next steps depend on this choice:
If it is a Flat fee, select a currency and enter the amount you want to charge. The currency must match the property currency. You can apply this fee per person in the reservation or once, and decide to charge it per night or once for the stay.
You can also apply this fee is the stay is less than x nights (for example, cleaning fees applied to stays of 5 nights and less).
Finally, you can add a Sales tax/VAT to your fee, and decide if it's included in the price or not.
If it is a Percentage, enter the percentage of this fee.

Finally, you can add a Sales tax/VAT to your fee, and decide if it's included in the price or not.

Once you have saved the fee, it will be added automatically to all the rentals you selected.
Assign an existing fee to other rentals in your rental section
To add an existing fee to other rentals:
- Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Rentals.
- Select the rental that you want to create the fee for, and select Fees & Taxes.
- Click Assign Fees.
- A slide-in window will appear where you will see all fees that you have created in your account. Now you can select the fee you want to assign to this rental and switch the toggle on. Then Save.
💡 Note: If the rental you created the fee for has a different currency to the rental you are adding the fee to, you will need to adjust the currency of the fee accordingly on the latter rental.
Set up additional taxes
By adding multiple taxes, you can configure your taxes according to your local guidelines and regulations. Once you have created a tax, you can easily add it to other rentals within the same account by entering their respective rates sections.
💡 Note: If you are synchronizing rates through one of our channel managers, be sure to check out which tax configurations are synchronized with each platform and how the taxes are calculated.
To create a tax:

- Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Rentals.
- Select the rental that you want to create the tax for and select Fees & Taxes.

Restrict Fees and Taxes to specific rental types (legacy feature)
This option is available if you have multiple room types on a rental. You may want a specific fee or tax only to be charged for certain rental types within a rental.
If you want, for example, to set a different cleaning fee for each of your three rooms: Create three cleaning fees with the values specific to each room, and restrict the fee accordingly.
It is necessary to first create the fee or tax and assign it to the rental. So you can then restrict the fee or tax to certain rental types:
- Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Rentals.
- Select the rental that you want to create the fee for, and select Fees & Taxes.
- Locate the fee or tax, click on the three dots, and select Edit restrictions.
- Untick the box for any rental types to which the fee or tax should not be applied.
💡 Note: If you use derived rates, you can also restrict a fee or tax so that it only applies to certain derived rates.
Update taxes or fees in bulk
If you need to make changes to a tax/fee that is assigned to various rentals, you can do so following these steps:
- Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Settings.
- A new page appears. From the left menu bar, select Local taxes or Fees.
- Now click on the three dots next to the tax/fee you want to update, and select Edit tax / Edit fee.
- In the slider that will open up, you can amend the amount or the concept of the tax/fee, assign different rentals, and can then save. The changes will be applied to all rentals this fee/tax is assigned to.
💡 Note: In case you don't want to update the tax/fee for all assigned rentals, you will need to unassign the rentals that are not applicable for the change, and create a new tax/fee for these rentals.
