How-to check the connection status with Airbnb

To check the status of your Airbnb connection in Lodgify:

  1. Go to the Channel Manager section of your Lodgify account
  2. Click on Airbnb
  3. Look at the Sync Status next to each rental. 

Understand the Sync Status after connection

This is what the different Sync Status mean:

  • Synced
    Your rental is successfully connected and synchronization is working correctly.

  • Failed to Sync
    The rental is connected, but there's an issue preventing synchronization.

If the status if Failed to Sync, click the error message to view details. Most error messages explain the issue and how to resolve it.

Below is a list of common errors and how to fix them. 

 

ErrorSolution
Pet fee issue
Error: 
allows_pets_as_host in booking settings should be enabled before setting PASS_THROUGH_PET_FEE.

This means that a pet fee has been created and assigned to the rental, but the amenity "Allow Pets" is not enabled. 

 

Solution: 

In the Overview section of your rental in Lodgify, click on the pencil icon the Rental Amenities box and make sure Pets allowed is ticked.

Long Term Rental Restriction
Errors: 

  • You can only accept long-term rentals (90 or more).
     
  • You can only accept long-term rentals (30 or more).
     
  • You can only accept long-term rentals (29 or more). 

This means Airbnb has restricted your listing to long-term stays because the short-term rental license has expired.

Solution: 

Contact Airbnb and upload a valid permit. Confirm with Airbnb once completed.

Accessibility Amenity Issue
Error: 

This amenity is under review, no photo uploads or deletions are allowed. Accessibility features require at least one photo.

This means that the listing includes an accessibility amenity, but there’s no associated photo.

Solution: 

  • Option 1: 
    Switch from Sync everything sync type, to Sync prices and availability. 
    You can do so from the Sync Setting section of your rental in Airbnb.
  • Option 2: 
    Switch from Sync everything sync type, to Sync prices and availability. Then remove the amenity manually in Airbnb and in Lodgify, then switch back to Sync everything.

Description Length Exceeded

Error: 
 

Please shorten your listing description's summary. It can't be more than 500 characters.

This means the description exceeds Airbnb's characters limit. 

Solution:

Shorten your description in Lodgify to stay within 500 characters.
 

You can do so in the Overview section of your rental in Lodgify.

Prohibited content in listing

Error:

We can’t save your info yet. Links and contact info can’t be shared. Emojis aren’t allowed in listing titles.


This means the listing title and/or description include content such as: 

  • Emojis in the title
  • Brand names (e.g., Google, Instagram)
  • Email addresses or phone numbers
  • Commercial content (company names)
  • Website links
  • Words in ALL CAPS
     
  •  
Solution: Remove any of the above from your listing title and description. 

Missing Tax information

Error: 

 Illegal request: tot_registration_id is required for XXXXXXXX listings.


This means tax details are missing.

Solution: Add your Business Tax ID and TOT registration ID in the Tax information section of your rental, under Pricing:

Unconfirmed Address

Error: You can not publish your listing until you have confirmed your address. 

Solution: 

Use the link provided in the error message to verify your listing address on Airbnb.
 

Listing Rejected by Airbnb

Error: 

Your listing cannot be published at this time. Please contact customer support for more information.

This means Airbnb has rejected the listing, likely due to Trust and Safety concerns.

Solution: 

Contact Airbnb directly. Lodgify cannot resolve this issue.
 

Invalid Base Price

Error: 

Please use a base price of at least XXXXX.

This means that the base price is either too high (above $25,000 USD) or too low.

Solution: 

Adjust your base price to comply with Airbnb’s pricing limits.
💡Note: Prices in other currencies may fluctuate due to exchange rates.
