If you notice a price difference between Lodgify and Vrbo, follow these steps to understand why.
Step 1: Simulate the Booking
- In your Lodgify calendar, start creating a booking. Select the dates and proceed to Step 2 of the booking flow.
- Then, open your Vrbo listing page (as if you were a guest) and select the same dates.
- Compare the room and rate shown in Lodgify to what appears on Vrbo.
Step 2: Check for a Markup
- Go to the Pricing section of your rental in Lodgify.
- If you’ve applied a markup, this increases the base rate.
Example- Room rate: $100
- Markup: 5%
- Price on Vrbo:
$100 + 5% = $105
Step 3: Check for a Promotion
Promotions configured in Lodgify are exported to Vrbo, provided they are not created using a promo code. If a promotion is applied to a Vrbo booking, it will not be visibly marked as a promotion; instead, it will simply reduce the room rate, making the price appear lower than expected.
To check if a promotion is being exported to Vrbo:
Go to the Pricing section of the rental.
Scroll to the Promotions section.
If there is an active promotion without a promo code, it is being applied to the room rate in Vrbo.
- If no, but the price is still incorrect on Vrbo please reach out to us.
💡Note: Prices will only be synced to Vrbo once the connection has been finalized. To check the status of your Vrbo connection, go to the Vrbo section of the Channel Manager and check the Sync status column.
Step 4: Check for Fees
The total room price within the search results includes all mandatory fees, as well as the Vrbo service fee, as part of their upfront pricing initiative. Taxes are displayed in a separate line at checkout.
The full price breakdown is shown to the guests at checkout when they click on the Information icon.
