Quickly override your nightly rates and minimum stay

Easily change or update your default rate, derived rates, and/or minimum stay without needing to change their already configured rate settings or rules. This nightly override feature allows you to select a day or time frame in the multi-unit calendar view and manually override the rate and minimum stay for that specific time frame. 

💡 Notes:

• If you want to set a different price or minimum stay for a period of time, you can create season rates.
• The nightly override function is only available for owners with the permission “This owner can edit the Calendar and the Reservations”. Learn more about your owners' permissions.

Use cases

This feature will allow you:

• To apply different rates and minimum stays with only a few clicks and without updating the rates and rules configured in your rental settings.
• To easily see dates with overridden rates in your calendar.
• To choose to override only the default rates, only a specific derived rate, or all of them.
• To have all your channels with the changed rate or minimum stay updated instantly.

⚠ Important: A nightly override will cancel short stay prices applied in the selected period. 

Overriding a nightly rate

To override a nightly rate, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Calendar.
2. Select the Multi Unit calendar view.
3. Find the rental whose rates you wish to change. Double-click on the box, or click on the box representing the start and end date of the period for which you wish to override the rate and/or minimum stay.
4.  Select Edit nightly price.
   
5. Edit the Nightly Rate price and/or minimum stay, and click Save.

Lodgify will immediately update Booking.com, Expedia, VRBO, and Airbnb.

💡 Notes:

• Overriding the nightly rate will only update the room rate and minimum stay in Booking.com, Expedia, VRBO, and Airbnb. Fees and taxes will not be affected. If you have a mark-up it will apply as normal. Learn what pricing details are exported from Lodgify to Booking.com, Expedia, VRBO, and Airbnb.
• Overriding your nightly rates and/or minimum stays does not override your check-in/out restrictions.
• This feature will not work with external rates (PriceLabs, Beyond). In case you activate external rates (even without actually connecting to PriceLabs), you will not be able to edit or delete the nightly override. In this case, please ensure to switch off external rates here in order to edit the nightly overrides. If you use PriceLabs / Beyond to manage your rates, the rates received from PriceLabs will always replace any overridden rates.

Overriding prices in bulk on the mobile app

On the mobile application, you can change prices in bulk across a date range, as well as customize and set prices for individual days within that range.

To override prices on the mobile app, follow these steps:

1. Go to your Calendar, select a period by clicking on the first and last day, then click Edit period.
2. Review the start and end dates for the changes you want to make, add a new Minimum stay and/or Nightly price and choose whether you want it to apply to all days within the selected range or only specific days.
   
   💡Note:The override applies only to available dates. If a day is already booked, the override will not apply.
3. Click Apply.

Using the Nightly Override feature with derived rates

If you are using derived rates in your Lodgify account (to be exported to Booking.com and/or Expedia), you can choose to override one or all of your derived rates.

💡 Note: If you create nightly overrides before setting up a derived rate, those prices won’t affect the new derived rate. After you create a new derived rate, remember to update your nightly overrides accordingly.

For either option, follow steps 1-3 of the instructions above for overriding a nightly rate. Then, follow the instructions below for your desired option:

Removing a nightly override

If you override the nightly rate and/or minimum stay, you can easily return to your original settings if you change your mind later on.

1. Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Calendar.
2. Select the Multi calendar view.
3. Find the rental you wish to edit. Double-click on the box, or click on the box representing the start and end date of the period for which you wish to remove the nightly override.
4. Select Delete nightly override.
   
   💡 Note: In case you activate external rates (even without actually connecting to PriceLabs), you will not be able to edit or delete the nightly override. In this case, please ensure to switch off external rates here in order to edit the nightly overrides.

Your nightly rate and minimum stay for the selected time frame will instantly return to the rate and minimum stay you have entered, in the rates section of the rental.
