Understanding Phishing

Phishing is a common online scam in which cybercriminals impersonate trusted organizations, such as Lodgify, to obtain sensitive information like usernames, passwords, or payment details.
Fraudulent messages often appear legitimate and may arrive via email, text message, or social media.
They typically contain links that redirect users to fake Lodgify login pages designed to capture account credentials.

Identifying fake Lodgify pages

The following signs can help identify a fraudulent message or website:

  • Calendly emails: If you receive an email from Calendly (notifications@calendly.com ), this is a scam or phishing email. Our team never sends emails via Calendly.
  • Sender name spoofing: Scammers may spoof the sender’s name to make it appear as though the email came from security@lodgify.com , even though the actual sender address is different.
  • Unexpected emails or messages: Be cautious of communications urging immediate action, such as "Your account will be suspended unless you log in now" or "You need to confirm your account within the next 24 hours; failure to do so will result in a temporary limitation of your account."
These are common phishing tactics designed to create urgency.
  • Misspelled URLs: Always check the web address before clicking. If it contains extra words, numbers, or spelling errors, it’s not authentic.
The official Lodgify website is www.lodgify.com. It is not:
    • lobgify.com
    • lodgifly.com
    • lodsify.com

Tip: when uncertain about a link, manually type www.lodgify.com into your browser instead of clicking on any embedded link.
  • Unusual requests: Lodgify will never ask for your password or personal information via email, phone, or chat.

Responding to phishing attempts

If a suspicious email or message is received:

If credentials have already been entered on a fraudulent site:

  1. Visit the official Lodgify Login Page.
  2. Change your password immediately.
  3. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) at login for enhanced security.
  4. If the same password is used elsewhere, update it across those platforms.
  5. Contact the Lodgify Support Team for additional assistance.

💡 Note: If there is any doubt about the legitimacy of a message, reach out through the official support channels listed on the Lodgify website.

Preventing phishing risks

To maintain a secure Lodgify account, consider the following best practices:

  • Access Lodgify directly: Always type the official URL into your browser rather than following links from emails or messages.
  • Bookmark the login page: Save the official login page in your browser for quick and secure access.
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Activate 2FA in your account settings to add an extra layer of protection.
  • Use strong, unique passwords: Create complex passwords and update them regularly.
