Manage your OTA reservations

Find how and where to manage your reservations coming from VRBO, Airbnb, Booking.com and Expedia.

VRBO

Three types of reservations exist on VRBO:

  1. Platform reservations: These are the reservations received from HomeAway/VRBO before the integration with Lodgify was finalized.
These bookings must be managed in HomeAway/VRBO.
  2. Software switch: These are reservations that were received through another channel manager before the connection with Lodgify and converted to VRBO. Learn here how to convert the reservation into an HomeAway/VRBO booking.
These bookings must be managed in Lodgify.
  3. Integrated reservations: These are the reservations received from HomeAway/VRBO after the integration with Lodgify was finalized.
These bookings must be managed in Lodgify.

For VRBO reservations received after the integration with Lodgify was finalized (Integrated reservations), and for those converted to VRBO and mapped by a VRBO agent (Software switch reservations), here is how their management works:

Manage VRBO Booking Changes on Lodgify

Booking changes need to be managed directly in Lodgify.

To change booking dates or edit a quote, follow the instructions provided in this article to apply the guest's change request.

💡 Note: While it may take some time for VRBO to update this change, as long as the connection is active, the primary information to be taken into account is the information in Lodgify.

Manage VRBO booking payments on Lodgify

  • If you selected the credit card payment method, the payment is processed in Lodgify according to your payment schedule in Lodgify.
  • If you selected the PayPal payment method, it is not possible to schedule automatic payments or make automatic refunds. You should send a manual request to your guests to collect payments.
  • If your VRBO policy states that payments are handled outside Lodgify, you can register your payments on the reservation by manually marking your reservation as paid.

Manage VRBO Booking Cancellations on Lodgify

Booking cancellations need to be managed directly in Lodgify.

If a guest requests to cancel, you will receive a notification from VRBO. You will then need to cancel the reservation in Lodgify to update the status of the reservation to Canceled.

The refund for canceled HomeAway/VRBO bookings needs to be processed in Lodgify. Learn more about booking cancelations and refunds.

Airbnb

Imported bookings must be edited and canceled in Airbnb. Only once the changes made in Airbnb have been confirmed will they be imported into Lodgify and shown in red in the booking details.

All payments for imported bookings need to be handled directly in Airbnb.
