Set up a damage protection

A blue and black logo Description automatically generated Safely Damage Protection, an insurance product tailored for hosts and property managers, is now available on the Lodgify platform. This insurance product is provided by Lodgify Insurance Services Inc. which acts in partnership with On Demand Insurance Agency, LLC (dba Safely), an unaffiliated insurance agency.

This feature is only accessible as part of an invite-only Early Access Program.

Safely seamlessly integrates with Lodgify, enabling you to establish damage protection for your rentals against damage caused by guests. You can conveniently manage claims and coverage directly within Lodgify.

⚠️ This feature is only available in the USA, excluding NY and US Territories.

💡 Notes:

  • If you are already using our Safely integration and would like to switch to the Damage Protection Program in Lodgify, please sign up here.
  • This feature is not available for room types (legacy feature) and bookable units.

Configure damage protection for your rentals

To protect your rentals, sign up with Safely directly from your Lodgify account. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to your Main Menu in the top left corner and select Settings. From the left menu bar select Damage protection and Discover.
    💡 Note: As the damage protection is only accessible as part of an invite-only Early Access Program, if you don't see this tab, the feature may not be active yet on your account.

  2. You can then click Select coverage and select your coverage amount.

  3. Your rentals are displayed, and you can assign coverage amounts per rental. Click Continue.

  4. Enter your payment details and click Finish sign-in.
    💡 Note: You will not be charged at the time of signing-up. Charges will be made exclusively by Safely and only after your request has been approved. Charges and billing will be made exclusively by Safely based on the number of departed reservations. Damage protection costs will not be reflected on Lodgify’s billing, you will receive a monthly invoice from Safely.

Once the sign-up is approved by Safely, the damage protection will be active. It can take up to 3 business days for Safely to approve your sign-up. Upon approval, you'll notice the Active status displayed next to each rental, signaling that the damage protection is now activated.

 

💡 Note: You can track the status of your sign-up request in the Damage protection tab. If your sign-up request has been declined, please contact Safely's support team.

Once active, coverage on a rental may be deleted or modified from the Damage protection tab. To delete or modify a coverage on a rental, click on the pencil icon. To add a new rental, click Protect rentals.

💡 Note: You cannot delete coverage on specific reservations.

Covered bookings

Damage protection applies only to bookings with Booked status and is active only when the guest is in the rental. 

💡 Note: Periods during which the owner is in the rental are not covered by Safely, and must therefore be blocked by a closed period in order not to be charged.

On the covered reservations, you will be able to file a claim that will be managed by Safely. To view if a reservation is covered by Safely, go to the reservation and review the Damage Protection section for details:

🔎 Application cases: If you have a reservation with a Tentative status, damage protection will not apply and you will not be charged for this reservation.
If a reservation is cancelled prior to check in, the status will be Cancelled. Damage protection will not apply, and you will not be charged for this reservation.
If your booking dates are between May 9 and May 12, you will not be covered for damage occurring on May 8.
If you change the dates of your booking, Safely will adapt the rate and the dates covered.

File a claim

To file a claim, choose the reservation you need to file a claim for, and click File claim.
Find here Safely's specific instructions on how to submit a claim.

💡 Note: This button is only active for Booked reservations once the check-in starts, and until 60 days after the checkout. Untitled (4).png

 

Once your request has been submitted, it will have a Pending status. This status will update as Safely processes the claim. To follow up, you can click on the link Manage claim on Safely.

💡 Note: You can create and save a draft before submitting a claim. If a draft is saved, you will be able to continue editing draft by clicking the link again.
