Stripe transaction fee + VAT

Depending on the country of your Billing Contact information, Lodgify charges for each payment you receive via Stripe, a 1% transaction fee + the applicable VAT. 

💡 Note: There is no VAT for customers outside the E.U./UK.

Only if you have a VAT number, you are exempt from paying VAT over your purchases according to EU regulation. Consequently, VAT needs to be applied in the following cases:

VAT will need to be charged when Notes
you are registered as a private person with a Billing Contact address in the E.U. ➡ The tick box Do you have a company in your Billing Contact information is left unticked, and no company is listed nor a VAT number is listed in your profile.
you are registered as a private person with a Billing Contact address in the UK  
you are registered as a company with a Billing Contact address in the UK  

💡 Note: Remember that the VAT %-rate is specific to each country. For example, VAT in Spain is 21%, Italy is 22%, UK 20%, etc. Therefore, the correct amount is calculated based on the country of your Billing Contact information in your Lodgify Account.

In certain cases, you may have the option to reclaim VAT payments. For this, please contact your local tax entity. If you have a VAT number, please make sure to add your company name and VAT number to your billing details in your account. Learn how to edit your billing information and VAT.

In case you are subject to VAT, you will receive an invoice at the beginning of each month listing the transaction fees and VAT that were charged for the transactions of the previous month.
