A rental agreement helps to define rental rules and regulations for you and the guest. It can include check-in times, deposits, acceptance of pets, payment methods, etc. In order to proceed with a booking, the guest will have to accept these conditions.
💡 Note: You can find a sample rental agreement template on our blog. Please make sure to consult with an attorney before finalizing any legally binding document to ensure it complies with current local or state laws.
To add a rental agreement:
- Go to your left-hand menu and select Rentals.
- Select the rental you want to add the rental agreement to, go to Policies and Rental agreement.
- You can either write the agreement directly in the text field or provide a URL of a page where the rental agreement is already uploaded, so guests can find it.
💡 Notes:
- It is not possible to use messaging placeholders in the rental agreement.
- If you add your rental agreement as text, don't forget to translate it using the Automatic translation tool in case you have activated different languages. Find out how to translate rental content.
Your guest will see the rental agreement in Step 3 of the check-out process. To read through the details of the agreement, they need to click on rental agreement. A pop-up window will appear with the rental agreement you have created. In order to finalize the booking/request or inquiry, they will need to tick the check-box I accept the rental agreement.
If you activate the digital signature feature for rental agreements, guests will also sign your rental agreement when completing their reservation check-in form. Find out more about this feature here.
