The digital signature feature for rental agreements allows you to collect an electronic signature from guests when they complete the reservation check-in form. It provides a formal confirmation of their acceptance of your terms and conditions at the time of booking.
How it works
The digital signature feature for rental agreements will be included as the final mandatory step in the online check-in form process, just before the guest completes the form. It will be collected for both direct and OTA bookings, as long as the Online Check-in and automated messaging are enabled and linked to the rentals.
- Guests can either draw their signature using their device or type their full name to provide the digital signature:
- Once the guest completes the form with their signature, they will immediately have the option to download a PDF of the signed rental agreement.
- You will also have access to the signed rental agreement and can download it as a PDF from the Reservation section, under the Online check-in sub-section for each reservation.
Activate the Digital Signature on Rental Agreements
To enable the Digital Signature on Rental Agreements, the reservation check-in form must be activated.
Once this requirement is met, follow these steps:
- Go to your left-hand menu and select Settings
- Click Online check-in from the left menu bar.
- Now click Rental agreement digital signature and switch the toggle on to activate.
💡 Notes:- Enabling the digital signature activates it for all rentals. But if a rental does not have a rental agreement enabled, you will see a status indicating that no rental agreement is available yet. You can add one by clicking Add:
This will also happen if your rental agreement is not translated into the language of your Lodgify admin account. It will still be sent to your guests, in the language(s) available.
- Individual rental agreements (including house rules and/or terms and conditions) are set up separately for each rental within its specific Rental Settings. The digital signature feature applies to the rental agreement configured for that particular rental.
- Enabling the digital signature activates it for all rentals. But if a rental does not have a rental agreement enabled, you will see a status indicating that no rental agreement is available yet. You can add one by clicking Add:
- To preview how your rental agreement will appear with the digital signature option, click the three dots to the right of the rental and select Preview.
At the top and bottom, the information is sourced from the reservation and the check-in form, while the middle section is taken from your rental agreement details.
- To edit a rental agreement, click the three dots to the right of the rental and select Edit, or edit it directly from your Rentals section as explained here.
