The feature explained
The auto reviews feature enables you to automatically post 5-star guest reviews on Airbnb with no manual action required, saving you time and effort.
This feature is especially useful for increasing the number of Airbnb reviews you receive. When a guest sees that you've already left them a review, they’re more likely to write one in return, improving your visibility on the platform.
You can choose how many days after check-out reviews are published, giving you enough time to edit or skip them if needed. This short delay also acts as a notification for the guest, as Airbnb lets them know they’ve received a review, often prompting them to write one back.
💡 Note: Between check-out and the day the review is sent, the review will have the status Scheduled.
Activating automated reviews
To activate automated reviews, follow these steps:
- Go to your left-hand menu, select Advanced and then Reviews.
- Click Automated reviews and activate.
Once activated, you can set or edit two main settings for the auto review: the scheduling and the templates.
- Scheduling sending: By default, reviews are automatically posted 3 days after check-out. You can adjust this setting to send reviews earlier or later if you wish.
-
Templates: You can create and edit existing templates that will be used for your automatic reviews. Each time a review is posted, one of your templates will be selected at random. To keep your reviews natural and varied, we recommend creating at least 3 different templates, or more if possible. You can also update them regularly and send some reviews manually from time to time. This helps keep your review history more authentic and engaging for future guests who visit your profile. It also ensures your content stays fresh and diverse, which Airbnb generally values when evaluating listing activity.
Also, don’t hesitate to use messaging placeholders to make your message more personalized!
💡 Note: When creating new templates, make sure the content complies with Airbnb’s Reviews Policy.
Skipping or editing an auto review
If you don't want an auto review to be sent to a specific guest, for example, because you prefer to write something more personalized, or because the stay didn’t go as expected, you can choose not to send the auto review while it’s still in Scheduled status.
You have two options: skip the auto review if you don’t want it to be sent, or edit it to send a review with a custom message or rating instead of the default template.
To skip or edit a review, follow these steps:
- Go to your left-hand menu, select Advanced and then Reviews.
- Click Airbnb and then Reviews to post.
- Click the three dots to the right of the review, and select Edit or Skip review.
- By selecting Skip review, you will cancel the automated review, and it won’t be sent. The review will then switch to Manual status, allowing you to create a manual review later if you wish.
- By selecting Edit, a new slide-in window will open where you can change the rating, indicate whether you would recommend the guest, edit the review message content, and optionally add a private message. Click Send to send the review immediately.
💡 Note: If you prefer to send the review later, it’s better to choose Skip review so you can create and send the review manually at a later time.
