Upon signing up with Lodgify, a domain is automatically created for you based on your username. Whilst you can always amend the first part of this domain (yourusername.lodgify.com) to your liking, we recommend using a custom domain instead as it improves your SEO.
Custom domains can be used with every subscription type (monthly, yearly, or bi-yearly), however, the options how you can connect the custom domain with your website differ depending on your subscription plan.

💡 Note: You have one free custom domain included in your subscription, which you can register or transfer to Lodgify. |
Connect an external domain to your Lodgify website
If you have a monthly subscription plan, you need to register your domain with an external provider (such as GoDaddy or 1&1) and then link it to your Lodgify website. The same applies if you already have an existing domain with an external domain host, and you want to continue to host your domain with them. Learn step by step how to connect your external domain to your Lodgify website.
💡 Notes:
- You can connect multiple domains. Simply repeat per domain the steps to connect the domain.
- You can use the option to connect the domain together with the option to either register a new domain through Lodgify or transfer your domain to Lodgify.
Register a custom domain
If you do not yet own a custom domain, you can choose to register a domain through Lodgify. Per subscription (yearly or bi-yearly) you have the option to register one domain. This domain will be managed by Lodgify and will be automatically renewed as long as your subscription with Lodgify remains active. Learn how to register your custom domain with Lodgify.
💡 Notes:
- If you want to use multiple domains, you have the option to register one domain through Lodgify, whilst registering the other domains with an external domain provider. Once you have registered the other domains, you can connect them to your Lodgify account.
-
You can either register or transfer a custom domain. It is not possible to do both within one subscription.
Transfer your external domain to Lodgify
If you already own a custom domain with an external provider but would like Lodgify to host and manage this domain, you can transfer the domain to Lodgify. During the transfer, the domain and connected email addresses will be dysfunctional. Learn how to transfer an existing domain to Lodgify.
💡 Note: If you transfer in a domain, you do so instead of registering one. If you want to use multiple domains, you will need to register the other domains with an external domain provider. Once you have registered the other domains, you can connect them to your Lodgify account.
