PM Modules - Create a job manually

You can either create scheduled jobs that are linked to your bookings and get created automatically with each new booking, or you can create jobs manually. Creating a job manually is useful, especially if it is a job that does not occur regularly with each booking. There are two types of manually created jobs: Booking related jobs and manual jobs.

Create a booking related job

Booking related jobs are jobs that are attached to a booking. This means, that their start and due dates are relative to the check-in/out times of that booking. You will see them in the Calendar looking the same as all jobs. The difference is that when hovering the mouse over a booking, all its related jobs will be highlighted, and when hovering the mouse over a job, its related booking will be highlighted. Booking related jobs can be created through scheduled tasks or manually. 

💡 NoteIf you are using scheduled tasks/jobs, every new booking received will automatically create a new booking related job according to its settings. Those jobs will be updated automatically by the system every few minutes according to changes made on booking times or changes made on the scheduled job that created it.

To manually create a booking related job, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the PM Modules section, and select Tasks from the sidebar menu.
  2. Then choose Calendar and select the booking you want to create the task for.
  3. Simply click on the booking and click Create job. Screenshot
  4. Now give the job a name and description. Select a start date and time and also until when the job is due.
  5. Finally, select who should complete the job. You can either assign the job to a specific person or to team members of a specific role who have access to the rental.
    💡 Note
    If you need to include something else which is not shown in the form when you create the job, just click Save. Once created, just edit it, and you will be able to include more details on that job.
    💡 NoteThis job will only be updated according to changes in the booking's check-in/out times.

Create a manual job

A manual job is a type of job which is not linked to a particular booking nor created thanks to a scheduled job. So you just choose the start and end time of the job and add its details manually.

To create a manual job, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the PM Modules section, and select Tasks from the sidebar menu.
  2. Then choose Calendar and select the rental you want to create the task for.
  3. Hover the mouse over the date you want the job to start on and click on the + icon that appears. 
  4. Now give the job a name and description. Select a start date and time and also until when the job is due.
  5. Finally, select who should complete the job. You can either assign the job to a specific person or to team members of a specific role who have access to the rental.

💡 Notes:

  • If you need to include something else which is not shown in the form when you create the job, just click Save. Once created, just edit it, and you will be able to include more details on that job.
  • If you want to create tasks not linked to a booking on a regular basis, you can create recurring tasks.
