Set up your rental overview and general information

To set up your rental's general information, you need to create your rental description and provide information about size, distribution, and amenities. This information will appear on your website, your checkout page, and some OTAs.

⚠️ As the feature to have multiple room types is no longer available, new rentals cannot be created with multiple rooms types anymore. They can nevertheless be modified, and it is possible to create new room types within an existing rental.

The setup of your rental overview changes depending width: 200pxon if you have configured room types or not.

To set up your rental's general information and amenities in case you don't have any room types configured:

  1. Go to your left-hand menu and select Rentals. Then click on the rental you want to edit, and go to Overview.Screenshot 2025-01-09 at 11.13.32.png
  2. Click the pencil to make changes.
  3. Click Save when you're done.

You can edit the following sections:

Section Notes
Rental name & description

Enter a rental name, and create a description of the rental.
 💡 Note: You can automatically translate your rental description.

Additionally, you can give your rental an Internal Name.
The Internal Name is used only within Lodgify only and will not be shown to your guests.

Rental info

Let the guest know about the size of the rental, how many people it can accommodate and how many units you have (don't confuse Units with the number of rooms your apartment might have). 

💡 NoteIf your Bookable Units App is not activated yet, you will see a warning, that even though you fill in more units, only one unit will be made available in your calendar. Find out more about the Bookable Units App.

Rooms

Give details about your room distribution.

Sleeping arrangements

Select how many beds you have of which type.

Rental amenities

Manage which amenities are available in your rental. Click on Show to the far right to see the options per category. Alternatively, you can use the search bar.

Some amenities may display Airbnb and/or VRBO logos for rentals that are connected to those channels. These logos inform you that the amenity can be synchronized. Furthermore, if you hover over the logo, you can see the name of the amenity on the external channel.


💡 Notes: 

  • Once an amenity is selected, it may take up to 24 hours to synchronize with external channels.
  • Amenities can only be synchronized with Airbnb if you're using "Synch Everything".
  • Amenities that are synchronized may have different names in Lodgify versus the channel. To give you as many options as possible, Lodgify amenities are mapped with the most comparable amenity on external channels. If no comparable amenity exists, the amenity cannot be mapped. In this case, we recommend adding the amenity to your rental's description.
  • Amenities do not synchronize with Booking.com nor Expedia, as these channels do not offer synchronization of rental information.

Set up a rental overview with room types (legacy feature)

To modify your rental's general information and amenities in case you have multiple room types configured:

  1. Go to your left-hand menu and select Rentals. Then choose the rental you want to edit and go to Overview.Screenshot 2025-01-09 at 11.12.45.png
  2. Click the pencil to make changes.
  3. Click Save when you're done.

You can edit the following sections:

Section Level Notes
Rental name & description Edit on rental level

Enter a name for the entire rental, and create a description of the rental.
💡 Note: The description should apply to the entire rental, not just one of the room types. You can automatically translate your rental description.

Additionally, you can give your room type an Internal Name.
The Internal Name is used only within Lodgify only and will not be shown to your guests.

Rental type Edit on rental level Select a Rental type from the drop-down list.

To set up a room type, click Add Room Type or select an existing one to edit.

💡 Note: These amenities are specifically for this room type. Please set up amenities available to the entire rental (e.g. outdoor pool) in the Rental amenities.

Accept children/infants and pets

This feature is only accessible as part of an invite-only Early Access Program.

You can choose whether to allow children/infants and pets in the reservations made through your website. The details of the guest breakdown will be displayed in the reservation summary.

To manage this permission, click the related amenities in your rental:

  • To accept children and infants, select Children welcome.
    💡 Note: The maximum occupancy is still respected, as a child is considered a guest (the number of guests = adults + children + infants). However, there must be at least 1 adult per reservation.
  • To accept pets, select Pets allowed and/or Pets allowed after arrangement.
    💡 Note: A maximum of 2 pets is allowed per reservation.

Don't forget to click Save when you're done

💡 Note: In some countries, it is considered illegal discrimination to prevent people with children from booking a reservation.
This is why a rental may be marked as "Not suitable for children/infants," but guests are still able to book with children. You can then choose whether to accept or decline the reservation.

Home highlights on the website

As long as you have activated at least one home highlight in the rental overview's amenities, all the website templates will display a Home Highlights section. There are four possible home highlights:

  • Pets welcome (includes: Pets welcome, Pets allowed only after arrangement)
  • Parking (includes: Parking garage, Parking, Parking lot, On-street parking, Parking Included, Parking Optional)
  • All-inclusive (includes: All inclusive meal-plan, Parking Included, Breakfast included, Housekeeper Included, Laundry service Included)
  • Broadband Internet (includes: Broadband internet, Dial-up internet, Wireless internet)
