- Locate the add-ons section and click + Add.
- A slide-in window will appear where you can create a new add-on by clicking Create new add-on.
- Select a flat amount, enter the value, and choose the appropriate calculation model, most likely a single charge per stay or per quantity per stay.
- Add VAT if applicable.
- Give your add-on a name and a description. Here you can add extra information, for example if you only accept a maximum number of animals or have certain restrictions.
- Upload an image and click Save.
💡 Note: Don't forget to create the pet fee in different languages:
In addition to creating your Pet Fee so that guests can add it when making their reservation, you can also indicate that pets are welcome at your property. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to your left-hand menu and select Rentals. Then click on the rental you want to edit, and go to Overview.
- Click the pencil next to Amenities and select Pets allowed or Pets allowed only after arrangement.
For Airbnb and Vrbo
If you want to send your Pet Fee to Airbnb and/or Vrbo, you will need to indicate that pets are accepted in your amenities and to create it as a fee. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to your left-hand menu and select Rentals.
- Then click on the rental you want to edit, and go to Overview.
- Click the pencil next to Amenities and select Pets allowed.
💡 Note: If you're using the Prices & Availability synchronization type for Airbnb, this information must be added directly on Airbnb. - Then, select Pricing.
- Scroll down to the Fees section and click + Add.
- Set the Fee type to Pet Fee and choose a flat amount — either single charge per stay (Airbnb & Vrbo) or per pet per stay (Airbnb only). VAT should be excluded.
For Vrbo, you must use a single charge per stay, as Vrbo does not support the “per pet” or “per guest” options.
💡 Note: For pet fees that include VAT, no separate tax is sent. For pet fees that exclude VAT, Vrbo and Airbnb support sending taxes separately. - The “Short Stay Restriction” in the pet fee settings is not supported, so make sure to leave the Short Stay Restriction toggle off.
- Save your Pet Fee, then go back to the Pricing page. Click the three dots on the right and select Restrictions.
- You can then choose to apply this fee to Airbnb and / or Vrbo.
For Booking.com
Pet fees are not synced with Booking.com.
However, if you have full synchronization enabled and the “Pets Allowed” amenity is turned on, guests will see that pets are allowed and that charges may apply.
Guests must then contact you directly to confirm whether their pets are allowed and to find out the applicable fee.
The Pet Fee is then paid directly at the property upon arrival.
To turn on the “Pets Allowed” amenity, follow these steps:
- Go to your left-hand menu and select Rentals. Then click on the rental you want to edit, and go to Overview.
- Click the pencil next to Amenities and select Pets allowed.
For Expedia
Fees and taxes are not sent from Lodgify to Expedia and need to be managed in your Expedia account.
